Volunteering
We greatly benefit from regular volunteers. Come and join us! Find our current volunteer needs below.
To begin volunteering:
1) Download and fill out these two forms:
- Volunteer Application (PDF)
- Background Check Release Form (PDF).
2) Mail, fax (612-722-9048), or bring these forms in to the school.
3) Contact Dan Olson using the form at the right (or dolson(at)hopeschool.org). Let us know which opportunity you're interested in!

WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES (All Year)
JumpStart Into Reading
Tuesdays, 11:40am-12:15pm (time is subject to change)
(STARTS: Tuesday, September 16th)
Read one-on-one with a struggling first grade student every Tuesday. We need 20 volunteers to commit to this program!
Classroom Assistants (grades 1-5)
1-5 days/week, all year long.
Help teacher with miscellaneous tasks, including reading, photocopying, etc.
WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES (Quarterly)
Enrichment Class Instructors/Assistants
One-day/week, 2:30pm-4:15pm (M, T, W, Th, or F)
We are looking for volunteers to help facilitate small enrichment classes during our After School Activity Period for our students in grades 6-9 who don't participate in our Athletics program. Enrichment Classes will change each quarter. We currently would like 1-2 more volunteers to assist for the fall.
First Quarter: Sept. 2-October 31
Activities include: Art Club (Mondays); Math Club (Tuesday & Thursday), Hope Debating Society (Wednesday); Intramural Sports Club (Mon., Wedn. & Fri.), Newspaper Club (Tuesday & Thursday).
Second Quarter: Nov. 4-Jan. 22
Activities include: Art Club (Mondays); Math Club (Tuesday & Thursday); Intramural Sports Club (Mon., Wedn. & Fri.); Newspaper Club (Tuesday & Thursday); Drama Club (teacher needed!);
1-2 more activities needed.
Third Quarter: Jan. 26-April 2
Activities include: Math Club (Tuesday & Thursday); Intramural Sports Club (Mon., Wedn. & Fri.); Newspaper Club (Tuesday & Thursday); Speech Club (Wednesdays);
1-2 more activities needed
Fourth Quarter: April 13-June 5
Activities include: Math Club (Tuesday & Thursday); Intramural Sports Club (Mon., Wedn. & Fri.); Newspaper Club (Tuesday & Thursday); Speech Club (Wednesdays);
1-2 more activities needed
