Hope Academy is seeking a Manager of Marketing, Design and Brand to lead the design and development of branded messaging through all communication touchpoints (i.e., printed, digital, video) for internal and external audiences.  This position reports to the Director of Development & Donor Impact and supports other school departments in addition to Development to tell the Hope Academy story by enhancing audience engagement and shaping our brand messaging.  The purpose of this position is to help Hope Academy increase student enrollment, retain and engage families, and maximize engagement of donors and supporters.

The mission of Hope Academy is to foster hope in God within the inner-city neighborhoods of Minneapolis by providing youth with a remarkable, Christ-centered education. Hope Academy serves over 620 students and will expand into a new HS wing in the Fall of 2024.  Because most of our families cannot afford a private education, 90% of Hope’s operating funds are provided through private donations. A comprehensive, well executed communication and marketing plan is critical to meeting both enrollment and funding objectives.

Job Details

  • Supervise and guide Marketing Communications Specialist
  • Oversee the creation of mission-focused, relevant, and compelling content, including printed collateral, digital presentations, video storytelling, apparel and event materials to support Development and school-wide needs.

Examples include:

  • Design of engaging printed materials for direct mail campaigns and in-school events
  • Design and creation of visually captivating PowerPoint presentations
  • Collaboration with Manager of Storytelling & Stewardship to strategize and execute on communication initiatives and events
  • Planning and executing the Recruitment & Admissions marketing strategy and plan
  • Oversight to technical aspects of testimonial and other marketing videos
  • Organizing and managing photo shoots with external photographers
  • Maintain adherence to organizational and brand identity standards with consistent messaging and graphic design across all communication channels; seek opportunities to strengthen and enhance Hope’s brand identity
  • Maintain Hope’s website, update & build pages and serve as main point of contact with technical support vendor(s)

Job Requirements

  • Self-starting – manage broad workload, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines
  • Organized and detail oriented – able to spearhead and coordinate projects with grace and accuracy.
  • Resourceful – find ways to accomplish goals with modest resources.  
  • Skilled and experienced.
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree in related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing communications and graphic design  
  • Expertise in Microsoft office suite, Adobe Creative Suite (Advanced InDesign and Photoshop, proficient in Premiere); Webflow experience a plus
  • Social media platform experience (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube)  
  • Excellent written communication skills.
  • Strong time and project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Starting salary commensurate with the experience and qualifications of the candidate.
  • This is a full-time, benefit eligible position.  Could be 4-5 days/week.
