Started in 2000, Hope Academy is a Christ-centered day school serving nearly 300 students in inner city Minneapolis with a remarkable, God-centered education. Our lower school serves students in grades K-5, while our upper school is composed of students in grades 6-12*.
*As of 2010-11, our upper school includes grades 6-11, with one high school grade being added each year. We will graduate our first-ever class of seniors in the spring of 2012!

The student body reflects the rich diversity of the city of Minneapolis.
Class sizes are limited to only 20 students per class.
Teaching FacultyHope Academy has carefully selected master teachers with a passion for God and a heart for the needs of urban youth. Teacher aides are employed to support reading and math instruction.
The Academy's educational plan emphasizes equipping students with the basic tools of learning within a God-centered view of life. A classical education model is followed to give students a foundational knowledge of language, mathematics, science, history, and the arts. Emphasis in the Upper School is placed on mastering a college preparatory curriculum, with an emphasis on critical thinking skills and developing eloquence in both the written and spoken word.
Starting in fourth grade, all students receive instruction in basic Latin vocabulary and grammar. Beginning in ninth grade, students take Spanish.

to providing a clean, safe and secure learning environment for our
Students wear attractive uniforms each day. Uniforms differ for three age groups (grades K-5; grades 6-8; and grades 9-12).
Bus transportation is provided free of charge to students living within the boundaries of Minneapolis.
A hot lunch is available for all students and is provided free of
charge to those qualifying for the Federal Free and Reduced Lunch
