What Families Are Saying

"I like how parents are involved in their children's schooling. The school makes [sure] parents understand that they need to be actively involved in their child's education... we feel very blessed to have a chance to send our boys there."
--Mother of two Hope Academy boys

Our Mission

To foster hope in God within the inner-city neighborhoods of Minneapolis by providing children with an outstanding, Christ-centered education.

Our Vision

Believing that all children are created for God's glory and endowed by him with an inalienable potential to acquire wisdom and knowledge, Hope Academy covenants with urban families to equip their children to become the responsible, servant leaders of the 21st Century. Committed to the truth, discipline, and values of the gospel of Jesus Christ, Hope Academy pursues this aim by mobilizing educational, business, and community leaders towards the important goal of serving the children of Minneapolis with a remarkable education, permeated with a God-centered perspective. kids in classroomThis inter-denominational school will seek to unleash kingdom citizens who work for justice, economic opportunity, racial harmony, hope for the family, and joy in the community.

Students

The student body reflects the rich diversity of the city of Minneapolis. Class sizes are limited to only 20 students per class.

Teaching Faculty

Hope Academy has carefully selected master teachers with a passion for God and a heart for the needs of urban children. Teacher aides are employed to support reading and math instruction.

Curriculum

The academy's educational plan emphasizes equipping students with the basic tools of learning within a God-centered view of life. A classical education model is followed to give students a foundational knowledge of language, mathematics, science, history, and the arts. Emphasis in the Middle School is placed on developing a student's critical thinking skills through a formal study of logic. Beginning in ninth grade, rigorous math, science, history and Bible are accompanied by rhetoric--where students develope persuasive speaking and writing skills.
